Favorite Makeup Products for 2016

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! Here are some of my favorite purchases I've bought throughout the year of 2016 and I want to share all of them with you :) *prices included from stores such as Sephora, Ulta, Target, Maccosmetics.com, and Sally Beauty Supply.

1. Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette ($49)

This is contour for everyone! No matter what color or skin type, the Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette is PERFECT for contouring, highlighting and even great shadows! These contour powders provide flawless coverage and have a matte finish, which are perfect for any look you're trying to create and all your contour needs!

These shadows can even be used as a double for eye shadows! Just take the top right peach shadow in "levitation", dust all over your lid, and use the center shadow "shadowplay" in the crease of your eye and top off with the far right shadow "subconcious" in the outer corner of your eye and lower lash-line for a natural everyday look.

Traveling soon? Just stick this palette in your suitcase and you'll be set for contour and shadow on the go. You'll thank me later for this tip ;)

2. Ardell Double Up Individual Lashes: Medium ($4)

As you can tell (and if you know me personally) you will never see me without a solid set of eyelash extensions! I also do them myself :)

These individual lashes are perfect for creating the base of my lashes and if I want to keep them natural, I use just these. If I want more dramatic lashes, I can build off of them and add the Ardell Individual Lashes in the long length on top.

Stay tuned for a detailed video and blog about how I do my own lash extensions!

3. Smashbox Photo-Finish Primer ($36)

If there's one thing I can't stress enough is to USE PRIMER EVERY TIME YOU WEAR MAKE UP! It creates a barrier between your skin and make up to ensure it will not get into your pores and clog them, causing raging acne or blackheads and uneven skin.

I have not found a better primer than this that applies SO flawlessly, makes foundation application seamless and keeps my skin clear no matter what make up I'm using or how much of it I use (which is typically a lot!). Smashbox, I <3 u.

4. L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara: Black/Noir ($8)

Yes, I have lash extensions, but that doesn't mean I can't use mascara!

No, this product is not just a yearly favorite, it's been a forever favorite! This mascara provides scary length to your lashes as we as define them with the super fine wand that brushes through your lashes for a flawless finish.

Perfect for the lower lash line as well as it does not run or come off during the day, and no lash primer needed!

5. Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner : Black Noir ($8)

I remember my years of STRUGGLING to find a perfect liquid liner, but I also remember rejoicing when I found this one!

I personally like a very VERY fine tip when it comes to my liquid liner pens because of the level of accuracy it ensures, and this one is more than perfect. The tip does not wear down with use and the finish of the liquid is slightly glossy and very pigmented.

I have loved this liquid liner so much I think I'm on my 12th one, and they last forever! Even better, you can find this in the cosmetics aisle of any grocery store for super cheap. Thank you ole reliable! *insert praise hands here*

6. MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Pressed Powder : C40 ($28)

Want to hear about the most versatile powder foundation out there? Well here ya go! I use this Mac powder in virtually EVERY look I do! For a simple no make up, make up look, I use this as my main foundation. On a full face, I use this to blend out my contour. Need a shine touch up throughout the day? Yep, I use this. It's perfect for everything!

This powder blurs any type of imperfection on your face and make your pores instantly disappear! If you want to blend out your look, use a lighter color than your natural foundation color. It also comes in a white pressed powder for overall blending if that suits your fancy. I purchase this compact over and over again and I don't see it stopping anytime soon. Definitely a top pick for my purse!

7. MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix + Setting Spray ($28)

Become a setting spray believer with me! Mac products are some of my favorites to finish your look if you couldn't tell. Just spray this over your finished product and you can almost see your make up melt together and blend together flawlessly right before your eyes!

Not only does it blend your make up, but it locks in your look for the whole day, which is great for people like me who's skin is more on the oiler side. And it guarantee's your look to stay in place no matter what you do (unless you deliberately wipe your whole hand over your face with a wet cloth. But then again, why would you?)! It's also on the cheaper side for higher quality setting sprays so put this down as a HUGE win in my book!

And who's the best one of them all....

8. Tarte Cosmetics In Bloom Shadow Palette ($45)

Can you say.. OBSESSED?!?! I have never been more excited to buy a product in my entire life! I put off getting this palette for so long just because of price but I finally broke down, bought it and haven't put it down since!

The shadow combinations are perfect for ANY look you want to create, from day, to night, to hanging around the house to a date night! I use this palette in some way for almost every look.

Matte shadows are the majority in this palette, but they include three shimmer shadows, my favorite including the one seen all over my lid called funny girl. I use it for an inner corner highlight as well.

These shadows are perfect colors for every skin type and color, extremely buildable and easy to blend, stay all day and no stray and will have you playing with your makeup for hours! The palette is also small enough to travel with so you can take it everywhere :) #1 best product of the year!

So there you have it! Those are my favorite 8 products of the year :)
