If you are a fan of cheap makeup, you probably know who Colourpop is.
They were my first purchase when it came to liquid lipsticks and they pretty much changed my life! Smudge proof, long lasting and not too drying either (to some they are, but I can tolerate it)
Not only that.. they are also $6 each!
Just take a look at their site. Most of their products range from $5-$15 for bundle options and their quality is absolutely amazing!
I don't know if it is just me though, but I noticed something a bit different from their product selection with their recent collab with iluvsarahii (or Karen, if you can't pronounce her Youtube name like me)
From this collection (which is absolutely to DIE for) you can buy 2 eyeshadow palettes, 3 different lips and 3 lip liners for either $69 or $60, or buy them individually.
Wait... I can get the same thing for $69 or $60? Why would I pay more for the same thing?
BECAUSE LOOK! They are offering the PR bundle for just $9 more!
A PR bundle?? Why would I want that??
Because every influencer has it.
You see... if you aren't familiar with the beauty community, basically a PR bundle/package is something sent to a Youtuber or influencer directly from the brand. The Youtuber can then do whatever they want with it (make a video review, Instagram unboxing, snapchat unboxing, giveaway, throw it away, whatever! With no strings attached.)
Anyone who watches Youtube or follow beauty influencers DIES a bit when they see these elaborate packages (at least I do!). I often find myself wanting so badly to get a PR package myself filled with so many products!
I mean come on, who wouldn't want a full line of athletic clothing with their new make up!
But with Colourpop, now you can actually have the PR package yourself!! For a good $9 more, which, if you are already paying $60, why not tackle on another $9 for the PR box and packaging, because come on... look at how GORGEOUS it is!
This is the first time I have ever seen a brand offering a PR package for sale to the general public and as pictured, it has been sold out every time I've been to the website.
Is this going to be a new trend? Maybe. Is it crazy to spend more money just to look or feel like a real beauty influencer? Maybe. Did it work for Colourpop?
I love seeing brands do stuff like this and it's SO AWESOME to see how everyone is evolving and adapting to what's hot and the coolest beauty trends (at least for me, after all, I did study PR and Marketing in college!)
What are your thoughts on this? Leave a comment down below or start a discussion on my Facebook or Instagram about it! I want to see if you think this is smart or a ploy to spend more money!
