INDIVIDUAL PALETTE REVIEWS

DARK MAGIC: A

This palette still isn't my absolute favorite from the collection, clearly because I do not normally reach for green shadows. HOWEVER, this palette did perform WAY better than the last palette.

There was absolutely no fall out on my face, but there was a tiny bit of kick back in the pan from the matte shadows, but it was pretty much normal compared to other shadows. Overall, nice palette if you're looking for green tones like these.

BLING BOSS: A

You can see how the colors performed with the last palette in my purple smokey eye tutorial, but overall I love this palette! I thought it performed ok with the last batch of palettes, yet this one of course was so much better.

The only complaint I had last time was that vibrant purple shade needed to be built up continuously for the color payoff, however this time around the shadow performed like a dream and was EXTRA pigmented from the get go. Love this!

RING THE ALARM: A

By far my favorite palette of the collection. Not only is it those everyday, warm tone favorites that we all love, but the colors in this palette are some of the most perfect for all skin tones and for every day use.

This is the palette I chose to use in my latest tutorial and review of the collection, so if you want my thoughts on this one and to see how they actually performed, go ahead and check that out ;)

ARMED AND GORGEOUS: A

B117F078-8E2E-4A7E-BCB2-96FA0A981B21.JPG

I wouldn't normally reach for a palette like this but the yellow shadows in these are a dream! It's too bad summer is coming to an end because these colors are perfect for it.

I say I like this one the *second* least, compared to the dark magic palette as I don't see myself reaching for this palette often, but the shadows performed just as well as all the other palette's so if these colors speak to you, feel free to get it!

MY OPINIONS ON THE OVERALL COLLECTION

  • Very cute concept

  • The shadows feel the same as, if not better than the original Jaclyn Hill palette

  • There is close to no fallout in these palettes

  • The color selection is super diverse and very wearable but allows you to be creative as well

  • Packaging is EVERYTHING! Love the mirror, the names under the shadows and the revamped packing from the original. The outside is a glossy finish instead of matte like the original, which means the palette's won't stain on the outside or look dirty

Do you follow me on social? If so, you could have seen my mini reviews and small tutorials on my instagram stories before this blog went live ;) all my handles are listed below!

WOULD I BUY THIS?

I have to say... I am still on the fence! The shadows are amazing and the colors are great, however if you compare this to the original Jaclyn Hill palette, the shadows are very similar (of course) so it's really up to you if you believe it is worth it.

The original Jaclyn Hill is $38 and this is $49 for all 4 palettes, so if you already have the original, you may not be benefiting from this unless you are into supporting Jaclyn because she is awesome, you love collecting palettes, or you are truly looking for smaller palettes with mirrors with great quality shadows that you can travel easily with (woo that's a lot!)

Hope you enjoyed! Leave me a comment if you're coming from Youtube!

Orange Fall Makeup Tutorial

IMG_5585_Facetune_15.10.2017-09:12:09.JPG

Oh BOY does it feel great to be back to posting videos! I took a little over a week off from posting to kind of re-adjust my schedule on here. Posting a blog every other day and two videos a week was pretty freaking tough! My life was literally going to work from 8-5, coming home and filming, writing and editing from the minute I got home to the time I went to bed every single night so I decided to take a step back to gain some of my sanity back!

I know this is a blog about my tutorial, BUT I also wanted to give you guys an update. I will be posting 2-3 blog posts a week and one Youtube video a week every Sunday! Make sure to subscribe and hit the notification button to make sure you don't miss a single video and follow me on twitter to stay updated on my blog posts. That is where I typically post my blogs first because it is super fast and quick and easy! I am also in the middle of creating a new blog design so my blog posts may get scattered here and there so if you're wondering why I'm a bit inconsistent, that is why so I am sorry if that ends up happening, but it is a process!

SO now that I'm finished ranting... I did a talk through tutorial for you guys this time :) I've been dying to use orange in my eyeshadows and this is what I came up with! All product details are listed below, I hope you enjoy!

October MorpheMe Subscription

373C4B32-D2D0-43AD-9287-9EEFDF0D2F5B.JPG

Back at it again with another month and you can definitely see this one is a bit special! This months MorpheMe box included a set of 5 brushes and they are giving breast cancer awareness month a run! I was a bit hesitant to make this into a blog because you actually can't buy these brushes on their own; this is exclusive to MorpheMe. It also took me just a little bit longer to get this blog post up because I kept forgetting to try out the brushes, so forgive me on that! But I have officially tried them all and I'm ready to give you my thoughts :)

Face Brushes

Morphe PK4

This is a greater contour brush for starters. I don't prefer this shape of brush for contour or blush anymore but it was a lifesaver when I first started doing makeup! A plus about this brush is that it is very soft (all of them are super soft so it's a plus for all brushes!) they are also pretty travel friendly so if you are just starting out in makeup or learning how to contour, then this brush is for you.

Morphe PK14

I can never get enough of big fluffy face brushes! This is probably one of the softest I own and it is great for finishing powder or running blush over your cheeks if you are trying to make a more flushed out look in your face.

Eye Brushes

Morphe PK45

Not going to lie... I'm not really a fan. I don't ever use brushes like this for my brows because I never use powder and rarely use cream. This might be good for powder but I prefer my Anastasia Brow Brush for cream products. This one is just too thick and the bristles fray out for me so unfortunately, this one is a no.

Morphe PK524

I also rarely use brushes like this one but it is good for packing a lot of color on the lid. It's not too dense but not too fluffy either so if you're looking to pat glitter or really shimmery shadows on large lid space, this one is perfect.

Morphe K36

Can never get enough of these types of brushes! I love it because it is perfect for smaller to medium eyes. It blends out product very well and very precisely in the crease which is great because I don't have to worry about this blowing my shadow all over the place. This might become a staple in my brush collection for sure.

Overall I have been extremely pleased with the MorpheMe subscription. It definitely is providing me with brushes that I want and will use on a daily basis. Will I continue? Maybe, but we'll see come next month ;)

MorpheMe Box: September

I know we're a little late here, but there have been more important launches for me to cover lately ;) Incase you're interested in signing up, here is what came in my MorpheMe box this September!

MORPHE E6

Not going to lie, this brush is soft... like really soft. It could be a tinnyyy bit more dense for my liking but it's still nice. I'm insanely obsessed with my oval brushes for foundation so I don't see me using this very often, but it's soft!

MORPHE M576

I love this blending brush for when I want to place color more precisely in my crease. For example, I'd use this for the shade right after my transition shade! Would I spend the money on this brush? Maybe if you're just starting to look for cheap blending brushes, but I definitely have others I love more.

MORPHE M577

Not a fan of this brush... just not a fan. I can see me using this for nose contour, but it's just too big for my eyes.

MORPHE M578

This is another ok brush that I'm just not wild about. It's nice to smudge shadows on my lower lash line, but like most brushes, I'm attached to the one I already use which is by Smashbox. I wouldn't call this brush a necessity.

Slightly hoping next Month will be better :) Or I may switch it out for boxycharm... we'll see! Stay tuned for next month!
